Logging In

1) Log in to OtherSpace at jointhesaga.com 1790.
2) Type create NAMEHERE PASSWORDHERE at the login screen.
3) Complete the easy character creation (chargen) walk-through process.
4) Step onto the grid.

That's all you have to do to get started. We've got a provisional approval system that allows newbies onto the grid without requiring an approved biography so that it's possible to dip your toe in without jumping fully into the pool. Once you're comfortable enough to complete the application process, just use the +str system to submit a biography for consideration. Staffers try to respond to applications within 48 hours. +str is a Staff Request system - type +str/help in-game to get more information.

Starting your character

After you've completed the chargen (character creation rooms), you'll want to submit a biography and set a description for yourself. To set a description, type:

@desc me=(text)

Players will see your description when they look your name. More on commands

The biography must be at least 250 words for approval and, if it's accepted, your character will become an official part of the ongoing OtherSpace saga. Research the worlds, cultures and race you've selected to help with your submission. It's highly recommended that you visit the links below, as they'll help greatly with your bio approval. What should my character know?

Biographies that are of commendable quality yield Roleplaying Point (RPP) rewards for the player. The best biographies earn 2,000 RPP. Those RPP can be spent on improving stats and skills or on purchasing special talents for your character. Also, they can be saved up and used to acquire Action Cards and special Event Cards through our Player Rewards Services.

When you're ready to submit your biography, type +str/help for a step-by-step submission.

While you're waiting for approval you can explore the grid, just be sure to set a description first. Before you wander about, it's a good idea to check out the Useful Commands article. Once accepted you may set up a wiki page for your character here: OtherSpace Characters
